As I fished around in the medicine cabinet once again for this ‘itty bitty’ tube of sanity, I thought it might be worth sharing!

If you are susceptible to mozzie bites that itch like mad, it is well worth having a tube of Ego SOOV Bite Gel handy.  My youngest child suffers terribly when bitten, and his skin swells and reddens into an angry welt.  A doctor recommended SOOV and we are still working through our first 25 gram tube.

It acts as an anaesthetic and numbs the area.  The effects seems to last quite a while too, allowing grumpy kids to get back to playing or sleeping.

Gone are the days of covering bites with toothpaste, and inscribing crosses on our bites with fingernails. This little tube has been one of the best finds to date. Highly recommended.

They say:  For fast acting, temporary relief from pain and itching due to insect bites (sandflies, mosquitoes, fleas etc.), sting plants (eg. nettles). Soov Bite contains lignocaine hydrochloride to anaesthetise the skin and stop the urge to scratch. It also contains antiseptic to help prevent infection.

Active Ingredients: Lignocaine hydrochloride 3% w/w, Cetrimide 0.5% w/w.
