As a sufferer of ruddy cheeks and obvious dark pigmentation from sun damage, I have never been one to try sheer foundations. Brands that tout foundation where your skin shines through never interested me, as the whole point of my foundation was to cover my flaws, and to create an even canvas for the rest of the products to follow!
Lancôme launched the Natural Light Creator Bare Skin Perfection SPF 15 foundation a long time ago. It was during the launch of of the Rouge in Love lipsticks that I had the opportunity to experience it for myself. One of the resident makeup artists at the Lancôme counter matched me to shade 02, Lys Rose. This colour is a fairly light shade, more pink than yellow. The finish was immediately luminous, but not dewy. Although the product is sheer, my skin was definitely evened out, and most of my ‘issues’ were covered.
What I love about this foundation is how fresh it looks at the end of the day, it is non-drying like long-wearing formulas, and this foundation does not sink into those horrendous ‘marionette’ lines that some of us are developing around our mouths. Win, win, win! I’m more than half way through my bottle, and I will repurchase this foundation.
They say: Lancôme invents its 1st foundation that helps to recreate the aura of perfect looking skin. Instantly complexion appears flawless and luminous, as if lit-from-within. See yourself in a new light.
Price: AUD RRP $68
Do you find yourself selecting sheerer formulations as you mature? Do you agree that less is more? I’d love to hear what you think, so please comment below.

Hi, I just found you today so this article is almost a full year old. I really like the Lancome Teint Visionnaire Foundation along with the serum and corrector – can’t get to my bathroom at the moment for their exact names! I am also using a few CC creams as I much prefer a sheer look, though not with my age spots and significant sun damage. I find a good concealer under the CC cream and finished with a Lancome pressed powder is perfect. The work I am doing on skincare is making my face shine and I don’t want to cover that natural glow.
Would love to see some more articles/reviews from you. As a 52yo who hasn’t worn makeup most of her life I find it is totally a new world I have discovered and thoroughly enjoying. xxx
